A hugely successful Box Day 2011 took place on Saturday 25th June. Zoe and Torri had pulled out all the stops for their second year in charge and visitors were greeted to an afternoon of fun and surprises on the uncharacteristically rain free playing field. At the entrance to the field was a very splendid fire engine over which children were invited to climb – many thanks indeed to Johnny and the rest of the retained fire crew from Aylsham watch. Music was provided by Chris and Richard from Rig-a-jig, and when not rushing round the field playing both organised and impromptu games, the kids sat spellbound listening to amazing stories from The Yarnsmith – you can read his account of the day on his blog.
The only sadness was that the clouds prevented stargazing through David Jackson’s wonderful telescopes.
Many thanks to all those who helped to make the day such a success, and especially to the organisers – Zoe and Tori.
