The Parish Marquee

The Oulton Parish Marquee is available to all Oulton residents for their own events .

The Marquee is 40 feet by 20 feet and has two 20 foot window-wall panels.  It is very solidly constructed and can be erected by four people in about an hour-and-a-half.

The space required by the marquee and its fixings is about 50 feet by 30 feet.

Also available are about 120 chairs, 12 large and 7 smaller tables, tea urns and pots and cups and saucers for about 80.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE
1.1 The marquee can be hired by any resident of the parish of Oulton
1.2 The marquee is not normally for use outside the parish
2.1 The marquee can be used free of charge for any public function relating to the parish
2.2 A donation of £75 will be required for the use of the marquee for private events
2.3 The Parish Council also own twelve large folding tables, seven smaller stacking tables and around 120 chairs.  A charge of £25 will be made for the use of some or all of these.
2.4 The user will normally be responsible for arranging transport of the marquee from its storage in Oulton Street to the scene of the event and back.  A charge of £10 will be made if this transport is provided by the parish council.
2.5 If any tables and chairs are required, the user will normally be responsible for arranging their transport from storage at Green Farm to the scene of the event and back.  A charge of £10 will be made if this transport is provided by the parish council.
3.1 There is a list of parish residents who are familiar with the erection and dismantling of the marquee.  ONE named person from this list MUST be present for both the erection and dismantling of the marquee.
3.2 At least three other adults will be required to assist in the erection and dismantling of the marquee.
4.1 The marquee must be returned in a clean and dry condition.  It should not be dismantled until completely dry.  The roof and walls must be returned in their bags.
5.1 Care must be taken to ensure that there is sufficient space around the marquee for the guy ropes.  A minimum space required is 55 feet by 35 feet.
5.2 No Bar-B-Qs or fires of any description are to be used inside the marquee, and lighting must not be in direct contact with the walls or roof panels.
6.1 Provided the above conditions are adhered to in full, the marquee will be insured by the Parish Council.
6.2 Careful attention should be paid to the siting of the marquee as, once erected, it is not insured against theft.
